The New York Yankees' lineup has been dealt a significant blow.

Skipper Aaron Boone revealed on Tuesday that trade deadline acquisition Jazz Chisholm Jr. has a UCL injury in his elbow which is likely going to result in an IL stint, per Max Goodman.

Chisholm Jr appeared to injure the elbow when he dove into home plate on Monday night against the Chicago White Sox, ultimately exiting the contest early. The X-rays came back negative, and the utility man didn't sound too concerned about it, but the Yankees still don't know the severity.

New York traded for Chisholm Jr on July 28th, and he's been brilliant since donning the pinstripes. The 26-year-old is hitting .316 with seven home runs and 11 RBI in 14 appearances for the Bronx Bombers.

He also just joined the 20-20 club for the first time in his career last week. The Yanks are a half-game behind the Baltimore Orioles for first place in the AL East.
