Commanders: Brandon Aiyuk Trade To Steelers Likely

The Washington Commanders were pulled into the middle of the Brandon Aiyuk saga over the summer due to his close friendship with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Of course, Commanders fans went nuts for the idea of adding Aiyuk to Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson. The offense would be fun to watch unfold.

But ... it appears the former first-round pick will be headed to a different city. Instead of sporting the burgundy and gold, he may be wearing the black and gold of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Update on Brandon Aiyuk:

-- The Steelers and #49ers have a deal on a potential trade and PIT is in a good place on an Aiyuk contract, sources say. If SF gives the final sign-off, it's done.

-- SF has an offer out to Aiyuk on a long-term deal for him to stay. He hasn't accepted.

Of course, the San Francisco 49ers would love for Aiyuk to stay (at the right price) as he is their leading receiver from a year ago. The Steelers, meanwhile, would love to pair him with George Pickens to help improve their offense.

The Commanders seemed to have made it very clear that they weren’t going to give up draft capital in any trade in an "overpay'' way as they only have six picks in next year’s draft.

Either way, barring a shocker, Aiyuk will not be coming to Washington.
