Chiefs ex Tyreek Hill: ‘I Would Beat’ Olympic Medal Winner in Foot Race

Former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill is well-known for his abundance of both speed and bravado.

In fact, the five-time All Pro and current member of the Miami Dolphins put both on center stage on Monday when claiming that not only could he beat 100m gold medal-winner Noah Lyles in a race, but also that he would do so should the Olympian dare to challenge him.

“I will beat Noah Lyles,” Hill told Kay Adams during his recent appearance on Up and Adams . “I wouldn’t beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles.”

Lyles has been one of the United States’ signature Olympic athletes this year, winning the gold medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 9.97 seconds. Unfortunately, the sprinter did not fare as well in the 200m dash finals, placing third. Shortly before the closing events in track and field, he tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, he was removed from the 4x100-meter relay, ending his 2024 Olympic journey.

Still, Lyles had raised the ire of several pro, team-sport athletes within the U.S. — implying the status of title winners as “World Champions” may be misleading, as their primary competition remains within the country’s borders.

In that vein, Hill could not resist one parting shot at the brazen sprinter.

“Noah Lyles can’t say nothing after what just happened to him,” Hill said. “He wants to come out and pretend he was sick, that’s like horseradish… for him to do that and say that and say we’re not world champions of our sport… speak on what you know about, you know what I’m saying? And that’s track.”
