Bills Looking Forward to Joint Practices Against Steelers

Leading up to their second preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Buffalo Bills will have the chance to participate in a unique aspect of the preseason: joint practices.

With the Bills' first and only joint practice of 2024 happening in Pittsburgh on Thursday prior to their Saturday game, the team will have the opportunity to try out certain schemes and formations against a team other than their own.

Linebacker Terrel Bernard, who will be wearing the green dot for the Bills defense this season, spoke about why he's looking forward to the opportunity.

"We've been going against our own guys for a long time now," said Bernard. "So, to have the opportunity go up there to compete against [Pittsburgh] before we play will be helpful. I think anytime you can go against another team, you figure out strengths and weaknesses of your own team, and you have an opportunity to compete."

Offensive coordinator Joe Brady also spoke about the upcoming practice, discussing his excitement to face a new team.

"We're at the point of camp where, when we go against our own guys, we make a call and they know the call we're saying," said Brady. "Now we get an opportunity to go against somebody else in a practice setting, in a training camp and controlled environment. You can be a bit more intentional..."

With the Bills practicing against an opponent other than themselves, expect more intensity to come out of practice on Thursday.
