After getting swept at home this past weekend, the Boston Red Sox have returned to the series win column.

The Red Sox earned a 9-4 victory over the Texas Rangers in the second game of the series.

A solid outing on the mound from Kutter Crawford paired with a team effort at the plate propelled Boston to the win.

What are the main things to take away from game two between the Red Sox and Rangers?

Crawford's start got the job done

Boston's starter did not necessarily have his best stuff tonight but it was more than enough to lead the team to victory.

In 5.1 innings on the mound, Crawford allowed four runs on three hits, walked a batter and struck out four.

The Red Sox's starting pitchers have started to figure something out in the second half of the season and the team hopes to see that trend continue.

Boston’s bullpen had a stellar night

Sticking with the theme of pitching, the Red Sox's success on the mound did not stop when manager Alex Cora gave the keys to the relievers.

Cam Booser struggled but Lucas Sims, Bailey Horn and Kenley Jansen looked good. None of them allowed a run and Jansen earned his 22nd save of the season.

Relief pitching is important for the success of any baseball team and Boston's bullpen is getting more and more dependable as the season goes along.

The Red Sox worked together at the plate

Boston had another good night at the plate and no one had to carry too heavy of a load.

The Red Sox scored nine runs off 12 hits. Each member of their batting order recorded a hit, Rafael Devers, Ceddanne Rafaela and Connor Wong each had two. Wong also led the way in RBI with three.

Boston has had its best performances in the batter's box this season when everyone gets involved and that paid dividends for it tonight.

The Red Sox are now 63-55 on the season.

    Game 3

The Red Sox will go for the sweep tomorrow. First pitch is set for 6:10 ET.
