Stephen A. Smith Names Biggest Threat To Georgia This Season

On Wednesday morning's edition of First Take, Stephen A. Smith erupted with furious rage to defend the honor of one college football powerhouse.
Elle Duncan was at the desk Wednesday when she, Smith and Chris "Mad Dog" Russo discussed some college football, with Duncan posing the question... which program poses the biggest threat to AP preseason No. 1 Georgia?
After Duncan and Russo issued their respective answers, Smith crashed into the conversation with immediate fireworks.
"ALABAMA!," Smith bellowed, explaining why Kalen DeBoer can pick up where Nick Saban left off.
"Let me tell you something right now: I know the great Nick Saban is gone, but Kalen DeBoer is no scrub," he added. "Let's look at this record: 25-3 over the last two seasons. The man has won 90% of his games as a head coach. 104-12 in nine seasons at Washington, Fresno State, even NAIA Sioux Falls for cryin' out loud."
Saban may be gone, but Stephen A. Smith doesn't believe the monster he built is going anywhere soon.
"(DeBoer) was in the national title last year against Michigan, and he is succeeding the great Nick Saban," Smith continued. "There's a standard at Alabama and you know what you got to do. ALABAMA, that's the biggest thing Georgia has to worry about."
Smith singled out Duncan, a Georgia native, and attacked the Bulldogs over their record against the Crimson Tide lately.
"Why did they not have a three-peat Mrs. Bulldog Elle Duncan?," Smith taunted. "Because they ran into ALABAMA, that's why. What is Kirby Smart's record lifetime against Alabama? 1-5 okay!"
Smith was now screaming at Duncan, but he made sure his argument was clear: If any team is considered a threat to Georgia, it's got to be Alabama. He also capped off his rant on Alabama by noting in pretty disgusting terms how impressive the Tide OL is.
"They're talking that these brothers might have maybe the best offensive line in college football," said Smith. "You got hogs down there at Alabama. Hogs! I got some big boys, the meat and potato brothers, brothers sitting up there eating big globs and globs of beef in the morning for breakfast. That offensive line, hog country down in Tuscaloosa."
That may not have been coherent, but it got the point across: Alabama's offensive line is beefed up and in terrific shape heading into 2024, where they'll be neck and neck with Georgia for the SEC title once again.
