Prominent SEC Analyst Calls Texas A&M Aggies QB One of Nation's Best

The Texas A&M Aggies came in at No. 20 in the AP Poll that was released this week, but some think this was not high enough.

While the Aggies' ranking was fairly consistent with other preseason rankings from throughout the offseason, Jordan Rodgers of the SEC Network did not think that it was an appropriate number.

Rodgers was asked during a segment following the release of the poll which SEC team was the most undervalued, and argued that it was the Aggies because of one very bold reason revolving around the team's quarterback.

"I'm gonna say it. I think Conner Weigman is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire country," Rodgers said . "I think he is completely overlooked. If you flip on the Miami tape from last year, you will not find a single game from any quarterback last season with more big time throws than Conner made in that game....There was not a quarterback at the beginning of the year playing as good as he was. The timing, the big-time throws, the talent, and now you add Collin Klein who's gonna build this offense around him...With this new scheme it's gonna be lights out, I think [the AP] is undervaluing how good he's gonna be."

If Rodgers can prove correct and Weigman does play up to his potential as one of the best quarterbacks in the country, there's no reason why the Aggies can't compete immediately in 2024 in the first season of a new era .

It won't be long before we find out what kind of product the offense, and the team as a whole, puts on the field.
