NFL Fans Are Drooling Over Packers WR Compared to Davante Adams

Rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed led the Green Bay Packers with 793 receiving yards in 2023, but the cheeseheads haven't had a bonafide No. 1 WR since trading away Davante Adams in March 2022.

The tides may be turning, however, as second-year wideout Dontayvion Wicks continues to turn heads leading up to the 2024 regular season.

The 23-year-old fifth-round pick, who has earned comparisons to Adams from Packers coaches because of his skills, opened the Packers preseason with a 65-yard touchdown from Jordan Love on the team's first drive vs. Cleveland.

Then, during training camp practice on Wednesday, August 14, Wicks made an acrobatic end zone catch over CB Keisean Nixon that had fans and fantasy football owners drooling over his potential upside.

"It's Dontayvion Wicks' world and we're all just living in it," Packers analyst Eli Berkovits wrote on X.

"Dontayvion Wicks continuing to look eerily similar to a former Packers wide receiver. I won't name any names tho," Football Digest said .

"I've seen enough. WR1 for the packers is Dontayvion Wicks. If it happens wk 1 or wk 8 I don't care, for dynasty, he's the guy you want," one fantasy account added .

"YESTERDAYS PRICE IS NOT TODAYS PRICE," fantasy analyst Davis Mattek exclaimed after Wicks' preseason touchdown.

"The other guys are awesome but i still think dontayvion wicks has the best chance to become *the* guy," 24/7 Sports' Zach Jacobson wrote .

"Dontayvion Wicks looks a lot like Garrett Wilson," another fan suggested .

Wicks managed 581 yards and four touchdowns on 39 catches as a rookie, but appears poised to improve upon those totals in 2024.
