Spurs Extend Services to South Padre Island

The San Antonio Spurs are trying to extend their reach in Texas, evidenced by the "I-35 Series." Next on the map is South Padre Island, at a 297.7-mile distance from San Antonio, which makes for another Texas area to gain exposure and fans.

With Victor Wembanyama on the roster, it's not hard to gain exposure, but San Antonio is about growing communities and helping South Padre accomplish such a goal.

"We have the ability to redefine our destination with the development of this convention center and to rethink our marketing plans. Going through this process and having a big name like the San Antonio Spurs is going to help us get more events," Blake Henry, the South Padre Island Convention and Visitor Bureau’s chief executive officer to Valley Business Report.

Regarding marketing, recruiting NBA players to meet the community always helps. The Spurs scheduled Keldon Johnson for a South Padre Island community meet-and-greet.
