At the height of his NFL career, Jordan Phillips was seen as one of the best interior defensive linemen in the game for the Buffalo Bills.

Now? The former second-round pick out of Oklahoma has been shipped to his third team in a single calendar year.

After signing a one-year deal with the New York Giants, Phillips was traded to the Dallas Cowboys Wednesday night in a late-round pick swap. Jordan Schultz was first on the news.

Phillips' time in New York appeared to be running out after the 31-year-old lost snaps to younger players on the first and second-team defense. He recorded 9.5 sacks for the Bills in 2019 was a career-high, and appeared to set him up as one of the premier defensive tackles in the game. In 120 total starts, he has recorded 24 sacks and 36 tackles for losses.

But after a short run with the Arizona Cardinals, and two more years back with the Bills, Phillips' NFL career was thrown into jeopardy after failing to find a team willing to give a long-term commitment.

Now that the older veteran is on his third team in the last eight months, it might be fair to question if he's on his final team and year in total.
