The Buffalo Bills are actively exploring options to bolster their receiving corps ahead of the 2024 NFL season. After placing wide receiver Chase Claypool on Injured Reserve and waiving Bryant Thompson due to injury, the Bills made a series of roster moves, including the signings of Damiere Byrd and Deon Cain .

However, the most intriguing development is the team’s reported interest in former New York Jets first-round pick Corey Davis.

Corey Davis , who stepped away from football in August 2023 for personal reasons, recently became a free agent after the Jets released him from the Reserve/Retired list in March 2024. Now, as the Bills search for additional depth and playmaking ability at the wide receiver position, Davis has emerged as a potential target.

Standing at 6-foot-3, Davis is known for his physicality and downfield threat. During his two seasons with the Jets, Davis managed 15.6 yards per reception despite being limited to 22 games due to injuries. While his catch percentage of 53.7% was not ideal, it’s important to note that New York’s inconsistent quarterback play during that period likely impacted his production.

Davis’ best season came in 2020 with the Tennessee Titans , where he recorded 984 receiving yards, five touchdowns, and 49 first-down receptions over 14 games. His ability to stretch the field and make big plays has long been recognized, making him an intriguing option for the Bills as they seek to enhance their offensive firepower.

As Buffalo continues to evaluate its roster in preparation for the upcoming season, the potential addition of Davis could provide the team with a veteran presence and a dynamic deep threat. While no official move has been made, the Bills’ interest in Davis signals their commitment to leaving no stone unturned as they aim to solidify their receiving corps.
