Shedeur Sanders recorded 3,230 passing yards and 27 touchdowns last season for the Colorado Buffaloes in his first year as starting quarterback. There are now high expectations for Sanders and Colorado heading into 2024.

Sanders was at the center of another debate recently. On Thursday, PFF released part of its top 50 players' rankings. PFF shared its rankings for players 20-11 in its top 50. According to PFF, Sanders was the No. 19 ranked player.

One fan pointed out that Carson Beck, the Georgia Bulldogs quarterback, was ranked ahead of Sanders at No. 14. The fan argued that Beck should not have been ranked ahead of Sanders.

Colorado went 4-8 last season under Deion Sanders. The program has had a bowl game drought dating back to 2020. The Buffaloes faced the Texas Longhorns that season in the Alamo Bowl.

Colorado got off to a 3-1 start in 2023 before going 1-7 in its last eight games.

Boulder experienced more roster turnover during the offseason, much like in 2023. The Buffaloes had over 40 players leave the program via the transfer portal.

There were also transfer additions, however. Some top portal additions included former Pittsburgh Panthers edge rusher Dayon Hayes, former Ohio State Buckeyes running back Dallan Hayden, and former Michigan Wolverines and Charlotte 49ers linebacker Nikhai Green-Hill.

If Coach Prime can reach a bowl game, it would be the program's first winning season since 2020.

Colorado opens the year with the North Dakota State Bison on Aug. 29.
