Nick Wright Gets Totally Scorched for 'Absurd' Take on Jalen Hurts

All eyes will be on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts in 2024 as he looks to build on his impressive 2023 campaign.

After guiding the Eagles to the NFC Championship Game, Hurts is poised to elevate his game further as he continues to fine-tune his arm and embrace his leadership role more.

But for sports personality Nick Wright, the 26-year-old signal-caller is not doing enough in training camp. He said Hurts is "being too cautious" with his passes and his zero interceptions in practices are "too few."

"I know it sounds absurd and it sounds like I'm just picking on guys," Wright said on Fox Sports' "First Things First," as posted by Barstool Philly on X. "But I need a little bit in training camp of, 'Oh, I took a chance there.'

"You need a couple of interceptions in mid-August in training camp."

Fans quickly took out their hypothetical pitchforks and blasted Wright for his comment on the Eagles' signal-caller, who tallied 3,858 yards, 23 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and his second Pro Bowl nod last season.

"Imagine having to say things like this for engagement. Embarrassing," commented one fan.

"Maybe if he saw a barber, for both his head and beard, his brain would function better?" suggested another fan.

"I am BEGGING Fox Sports to pick someone, anyone, as a figurehead over Nick Wright," posted one user.

The oh-so-lovely words for Wright didn't end there.

"Nick Wright wife must have a crush on Jalen Hurts because he’s been hating on him heavy since the Super Bowl 2 years ago…" another X user wrote.

Wright's co-host and former NFL wide receiver Greg Jennings agreed with him.

The Fox Sports star admitted that he "doesn't care" about what people will say about his take on Hurts and noted that he's "ready to be aggregated" on the internet.

"I know I'm right," Wright said.

    There's a joke there somewhere.
