Football season is just a few weeks away, but we now know the date for Big Blue Madness for Kentucky basketball. On Thursday, UK Athletics officially announced Big Blue Madness will be held on October 11 inside Rupp Arena. Tickets will be available at a later date on a first come-first serve type basis until sold out, and watch out BBN, because tickets go fast.

It's going to be one of the more anticipated Big Blue Madnesses in recent years. Both basketball programs are welcoming in new coaches. Women's basketball is welcoming Kenny Brooks, while the men's team is welcoming Mark Pope, a former player on Kentucky's 1996 championship team. By now, fans know all about the story of each coach, and both look to be bringing a new energy to their respective programs that fans have already fell in love with without having watched a game yet.

Fans will get their first look at each team, and the excitement has already been felt being two months away from the event. Also, this event is always a hotspot for recruiting visits, and the men's basketball recruiting visit list is always a big one on this night. Plus, Kentucky football will play a home game that weekend against Vanderbilt, a great chance for fans to do a double-header weekend, as well as Keeneland. There is always a slew of recruits visiting that weekend. Two have already been confirmed, as 2025 recruits Tounde Yessoufou and Kaden Magwood have already set their visits for that weekend.

Mark your calendars, BBN. It's going to be a highly-anticipated Big Blue Madness this year.
