We're getting closer to the start of the 2024 season for Stanford basketball, and we're starting to get more information on the team's schedule for this upcoming campaign. On Thursday, the Cardinal announced it will face Oregon in the San Jose Tip-Off on December 21.

Stanford and Oregon had many battles as members of the Pac-12, but the Cardinal has since joined the ACC, and the Ducks are now in the Big Ten. Stanford hasn't faced Oregon in non-conference play since the 1967 Portland Far West Classic. The two schools were conference-mates in the Pac-12 for several decades.

The Cardinal is poised for an exciting basketball season under first-year head coach Kyle Smith, who previously coached at Washington State. Senior center Maxime Raynaud leads the team after averaging 15.5 points and being selected to the All-Pac-12 Second-Team last year.

Stanford holds the all-time series lead over Oregon 33-21, but the Ducks won the teams' last-ever conference matchup on February 22 with a final score of 78-65. Smith's Washington State team split with Oregon last season, with each school winning one game.

The 2024 college basketball season is slated to begin on November 4, but we won't have Stanford's full schedule until closer to the season. Stay tuned for more updates on Cardinal basketball this fall.
