For the second week in a row, the Dallas Cowboys had a joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday. This time, however, quarterback Dak Prescott was on the field the day after.

The signal-caller missed last Thursday's practice due to ankle soreness, but he was out there taking reps this Thursday. Prescott made it clear that it's not a serious issue, and he simply needs a day or two of rest here and there. That's been the case since he fractured the ankle four years ago.

Via Jon Machota of The Athletic:

“I’m fine,” Prescott said. “Whether it’s a day of rest here or there or taking a vet day . . . I’m fine. There’s no ankle-gate. No long-term [issues] or residual effects.”

Prescott is coming off a solid 2023 season for the Cowboys, throwing for 4,516 yards and an NFL-best 36 touchdowns. He also completed 70% of his passes.

The veteran is also looking for a contract extension and said he's "confident" it will happen soon.
