In a back-and-forth preseason contest, the Philadelphia Eagles rallied late to defeat the New England Patriots 14-13 on Thursday night. The game featured rotating quarterbacks for both teams as coaches evaluated talent ahead of roster cuts.

The Patriots held a 13-6 lead entering the fourth quarter, but the Eagles mounted a comeback behind strong play from their running backs and tight ends. Running back Kendall Milton capped off a long 70-yard drive with a touchdown run, and the Eagles successfully converted the two-point attempt to take a 14-13 lead with 4:23 remaining.

Bailey Zappe entered for the Patriots' last-gasp drive, moving the team into Eagles territory. However, a costly fumbled snap in the final minutes sealed the victory for Philadelphia.

The game was marked by strong defensive play, with both teams struggling at times to generate consistent offense. The Eagles’ defense recorded multiple sacks, including a key third-down takedown by rookie Nolan Smith late in the third quarter.

For Philadelphia, the quarterback rotation of Kenny Pickett, Drake Maye, Tanner McKee, and Will Grier showed flashes but also inconsistency. McKee was particularly efficient, completing 8 of 9 passes for 68 yards in limited action.

On the Patriots' side, Jacoby Brissett made a case for the backup role with a solid early drive, though an interception may have dampened his chances. Drake Maye showed potential but also rookie nerves, while Joe Milton and Bailey Zappe split time in the second half.

The kicking game proved crucial, with Jake Elliott nailing two field goals for the Eagles, including a 42-yarder. The Patriots' kicker also converted his attempts, keeping the game close throughout.

This preseason victory gives the Eagles coaching staff plenty to evaluate as they look towards finalizing their roster. The Patriots, meanwhile, will be looking to shore up their offensive line play and late-game execution before the regular season kicks off.
