UK announces Updates on Blue-White, Exhibition Games

UK Athletics has announced a couple of schedule updates for Kentucky basketball's 2024-25 season. The date for Big Blue Madness was announced yesterday, which will be on October 11 inside Rupp Arena. On Friday, UK has finalized the dates for Kentucky's other pre-season events.

Starting with the annual Blue-White game, UK says it will be played on Friday, October 18 at Memorial Coliseum, not Rupp Arena. UK also announced that all proceeds raised from the event will be going straight to Club Blue, Kentucky basketball's NIL fund. Fans will get a look at the team in action inside Memorial Coliseum, which has recently been fully renovated, which forced Kentucky's women's basketball team to play at Rupp Arena last season.

On top of that, UK has also finalized both of Kentucky's exhibition matchups inside Rupp Arena. First, the Wildcats will face off against in-state squad Kentucky Wesleyan on October 23. Then, Kentucky will take on Minnesota State Mankato a week later on October 29. Fans will get their first look at the beginning of the Mark Pope era when Kentucky faces those opponents in an exhibition matchup. It will only be the third time in school history that Kentucky will play Kentucky Wesleyan, the other times being 2004 and 2019, also exhibition games. The Panthers went 21-9 last season in Division ll. Kentucky's game against Minnesota State Mankato will be the first time ever that the two have faced each other. They are the reigning 2024 Division ll National Champions, earning a 35-2 record last season.
