Fans Roasting Noah Lyles After Appearing to Troll Tyreek Hill

Olympic 100m gold medalist Noah Lyles responded to Tyreek Hill's mention of him and is receiving backlash from fans.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was asked on August 12 on the "Up & Adams" show what he thought of Lyles' comments about Super Bowl champions not being "world champions."

"Come on bruh, just speak on what you know about and that's track," Hill told host Kay Adams. "I would beat Noah Lyles."

On social media, many fans supported Hill's statement, expressing their loyalty to the NFL and other American sports leagues.

This loyalty stems from the limited opportunities to watch Lyles in action, as he only competes in the World Athletic Championships every two years and the Olympics every four years. In contrast, NFL fans can watch Hill play every Sunday.

Hill has a strong track record in running, having competed in high school, college and even for Team USA at the junior level. His personal best in the 100m sprint is an impressive 10.19 seconds, just under half a second longer than Lyles' recent 9.79-second gold medal time at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

In a video credited to NBC Sports on August 16, Lyles seemingly responded by claiming he wasn't too familiar with the Dolphins wide receiver.

"What's the cheetah guy from football? Well, I can't remember his name... What's the football player who thinks he's fast name?"

Some fans seem to think Lyles was pretending not to know who Hill was but actually did. Others flat-out roasted him.

"Bro is tryna stay relevant," one claimed.

"It amazes me how glorified this guy thinks he is 😂😭" wrote another commenter.

"Noah Lyles genuinely acts like he doesn't watch football," another added.

For now, fans await the day they might see Lyles and Hill battle it out on the track to settle the debate.
