Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever entered the second half of the 2024-2025 season with playoff hopes and a daunting schedule that began Friday against Brittany Griner and the Phoenix Mercury.

The marquee matchup proved to be a showcase game for the WNBA Rookie of the Year favorite Clark as Indiana took care of business with a 98-89 win at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Clark scorched the Mercury with 29 points, 10 assists and five rebounds on a night when her teammate Kelsey Mitchell almost matched her with 28 points.

Afterward, sports personality Skip Bayless shared an impressive Indiana Fever stat with his 3.2 million-plus followers on X.

Bayless noted that Clark's Fever have now won seven of eight home games heading into Sunday's matchup against Jewell Lloyd and the Seattle Storm.

It's a stat that bodes well for the Fever's growing playoff chances.

"Caitlin Clark finally got a break from playing nonstop basketball," Bayless said about the Iowa Hawkeyes rookie, who got a chance to rest while many of the WNBA's best players took part in the 2024 Summer Olympics.

"And (she) looked refreshed and revitalized tonight with 29 points and 10 assists, 'only' five turnovers," Bayless added.

The longtime ESPN and Fox Sports One host sounded enthusiastic about the Fever's playoff chances. Indiana is now 12-15 on the season but still in the driver's seat for a playoff spot heading into their second game of the WNBA season's second half.

"Fever are heating up, fun to watch," Bayless added. "Swept Phoenix 3-0. Have won 7 of 8 at home. I can't help (it); I'm getting the Fever."
