Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning may be considered one of the best and smartest signal-callers that we've seen in our lifetime, but his recently revealed list of the top quarterbacks in today's NFL is leaving some people scratching their heads.

On Sunday at the Fanatics Fest in New York City, Manning announced that he thinks Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen were the five best QBs currently playing in the NFL.

Unsurprisingly, this top five list from Manning has caught some flack from football fans around the world, particularly for some notable omissions on the list

Most notably, Manning made no mention of quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts, Matthew Stafford, or Trevor Lawrence, all of whom some fans consider to be near the top of the league.

One of the biggest arguments from fans was that Herbert should not be on the list, since he doesn't have the NFL accolades that a lot of others in the top five possess. However, with his undisputed talent, and the rosters that have surrounded him in Los Angeles since he was drafted in 2020, it's fair to think that a brighter future is ahead for him in the next few years.

Ultimately, anyone's top-five list is going to be controversial, because when you're dealing with the vast amounts of talent that we have right now in the NFL, you can nitpick anything and say this person is more deserving than another.

In the end, I'm going to trust Manning and his eye for talent.
