Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have now won two straight games after defeating Jewell Loyd and the Seattle Storm 92-75. The Fever now sit at 13-15 on the 2024 WNBA season, good for third place in the Eastern Conference.

Clark finished the game with 23 points on 9-of-19 shooting, nine assists and five rebounds. She also broke the WNBA rookie assist record, passing former Sacramento Monarchs star Ticha Penicheiro.

Loyd added 26 points on 9-of-22 shooting, four rebounds and four assists for Seattle in the loss.

In the postgame press conference, Loyd was asked by Storm Chasers , a social media account dedicated to Storm content, what growth she has seen from Clark since the start of the season.

Loyd refused to answer the question, pivoting away from Clark to praise her rookie teammates Nika Muhl and Jordan Horston.

"Yeah, I'm going to talk about our rookies," Loyd said.

This is not the first instance a WNBA star has refused to talk about Clark. After Indiana's first game against the Chicago Sky, Chennedy Carter and Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon both rejected a question regarding the former Iowa Hawkeyes star.

Loyd has had some questionable comments about Clark in the past as well. After their first game against the Fever in May, Loyd was asked what she thought about the hype Clark has brought to the WNBA.

"It's never about them," Loyd said. "It's about us."
