Joe Burrow Receives High Praise From NFL Icon

Peyton Manning sat down with Stephen A. Smith at the Fanatics Fest this weekend and was asked to rank his top five quarterbacks in the NFL .

Patrick Mahomes was the obvious number one for Manning, but he lavished high praise on Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow when ranking him number two.

“I’m a big fan of Joe Burrow, and I’m glad to see him back healthy. I like the way he carries himself; I like his demeanor. He doesn't sweat,  he doesn't flinch.” Manning said.

In Burrow's last two fully healthy seasons, which came in 2021 and 2022, he threw for 30+ touchdowns and 4,000+ yards both years. He led the Bengals to back-to-back AFC championships and, in 2021, defeated Mahomes and the Chiefs in Arrowhead.

Tom Brady and Joe Burrow are the only two quarterbacks to ever defeat Mahomes on the road in the postseason.

The only question mark that surrounds Burrow is his health. When he’s healthy, he’s as good as it gets, and he can win anytime, anywhere. But that’s a big question mark to have.

He highlighted a key change in his preparation leading up to the season this year. He has come to the realization that he needs to be available for his teammates. He understood the importance of prioritizing his health more.

This is a big season for the Bengals. They have started to fly under the radar again, yet have one of the best rosters in football. Those Super Bowl aspirations haven't wavered, and Burrow seems more locked in than ever.
