All eyes are on Colorado’s dynamic duo of Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders as the 2024 college football season nears. The tandem will be counted on to help the Buffs to a winning record and hopefully much more. As the first game against North Dakota State on Thursday, August 29 closes in, both Shedeur and Travis have been named to ESPN’s top 100 college football players list for 2024.

Travis Hunter, a two-way phenom, has skyrocketed up to No. 3 in the rankings, after placing No. 35 last year. Following a stellar year that saw him excel on both offense and defense, his versatility makes him an invaluable asset, capable of changing the game with his performances on either side of the ball. Entering what is likely his final season before the NFL Draft, Hunter’s ability to perform at an elite level will be crucial to Colorado’s success.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders also made a significant leap in the rankings, moving up to No. 24, a huge rise from his spot of No. 69 last season. Sanders’ impressive 27-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio from last season has solidified his reputation as a top quarterback prospect. With improved protection, and an improved run game, Sanders is poised to lead the Buffaloes’ offense and establish himself as a contender for the top quarterback chosen in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Together, Hunter and Sanders are the cornerstones of a Colorado team eager to make its mark this season. In a wide open Big 12 conference, Colorado has a chance to continue to make noise and possibly compete for conference title. Hunter and Sanders will look to show the country that Colorado is more than a two-man team.
