A former NFL quarterback and two-time Heisman finalist is set to make his broadcasting debut on NBC for Big Ten Football coverage when the Nebraska Cornhuskers play the Colorado Buffaloes on Sept. 7.

Colt McCoy will both be a game analyst and appear on the "Big Ten College Countdown" studio show. McCoy will debut alongside Paul Burmeister (play-by-play) and Kathryn Tappen (sideline reporter) in primetime at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The 14-year NFL veteran shared his excitement for the opportunity in a statement on Monday.

“College Football has always held a special place in my heart. With the expansion of the Big Ten and new era of College Football, it is the perfect time to join NBC Sports,” McCoy said.

“I can’t wait to share in the passion, excitement, and competitive spirit every week!”

McCoy spent most of his career with the Arizona Cardinals and has prior experience calling football games for the USFL for NBC Sports in 2023.

According to NBC Sports, its Big Ten Football package features Big Ten Saturday Night on NBC and Peacock, marking the conference's first dedicated weekly primetime game on a national broadcast network.

Peacock will simulstream all of NBC Sports’ college football games and studio shows airing on the NBC broadcast network this season, including "Big Ten Saturday Night" and Notre Dame Football home games.

The Cornhuskers are favored by -6.5 at home against the Buffaloes on Sept. 7. Last season, Colorado defeated Nebraska 36-14.

The all-time series record is in favor of Nebraska, as the Huskers have a 49-21-2 record. Colorado is currently on a three-game win streak dating back to 2018.
