Anthony Edwards says he, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant drug-tested after winning gold medal

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards says he, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant were all drug tested following Team USA's gold medal win over France.

Edwards and Durant appeared with Jalen Rose at Fanatics Fest in New York, with the 23-year-old alleging their locker room celebrations were cut short.

"After the gold medal [game], I'm not gonna lie... me and [Kevin Durant] had a, what they call it? A drug test? Yeah... we couldn't even really celebrate in the locker room for real because me, [Durant] and Steph [Curry] had to take like a drug test or something," Edwards said.

Durant wasn't really engaging with Edwards' mention of the supposed tests taking place, but the Timberwolves guard continued.

Rose jokingly responded, "It's only right they gave Steph one the way he closed that deal. That was crazy."

"He [Curry] supposed to get one after that Serbia game," Edwards remarked.

If they were in fact drug-tested, it may have been warranted as Curry started cooking in the semifinals against Serbia and continued it in the gold medal game against France. He scored 36 points, with eight rebounds and two assists against Nikola Jokic and Serbia.

Curry followed that up with a 24-point performance to secure gold for the Americans. It was the first time the Golden State Warriors point guard has played in the Olympics.

Edwards averaged nearly 13 points a game off the bench, also making his Olympic debut.

Playing for his country wasn't anything new for the Phoenix Suns star Durant, as he leads Team USA all-time in total points (435), scoring average (19.8 ppg), field goals (146), three-point field goals (74) and free throws (69).

    Durant's new nickname for Edwards

During Fanatics Fest, Durant also said he has a new nickname for Edwards.

"I call him the baby GOAT," Durant said.

The two have bonded over the Olympics and both have made it known the mutual respect they have for each other.

Edwards previously said Durant is a player he has looked up to his entire basketball career and Durant has repaid that respect by saying he loves "everything about Ant."

Some NBA analysts have speculated the two could team up in the future, as Durant has two years left on his contract with the Suns.
