Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy made a triumphant return to action after a long absence due to injury. On Monday night, Muncy helped the Dodgers get by the Seattle Mariners in a 3-0 win to start a three-game homestand on the right foot.

Following the Dodgers’ victory, Muncy said that he loved the way he felt in the contest, though, he admitted that his rhythm is still a work in progress.

“It's a little bit of a relief,” Muncy shared, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN ). “The mechanics feel really good. Obviously the timing isn't where I want it to be.”

Muncy struck out in just four pitches during his first at-bat in the second inning. In his next plate appearance, the two-time All-Star flied out to left in the fifth frame. But he finally got it going in the seventh inning with a 400-foot, two-run home run that extended the Dodgers’ lead to three runs.

After playing in his first game since May 15, Muncy, who landed on the 60-day injured list due to an oblique issue, is now batting .224/.322/.490 with 10 home runs and 30 RBIs in the 2024 MLB regular season.

Muncy will look to build on his performance against the Mariners, as the Dodgers face off with Seattle anew this Wednesday, with Walker Buehler scheduled to start on the mound for LA.
