The Associated Press (AP) recently unveiled its preseason All-American team ahead of the 2024 college football season, with Colorado Buffaloes’ standout Travis Hunter earning a spot on the first team as an "all-purpose player." Hunter, known for his exceptional versatility on both offense and defense, was the only Colorado player to make the prestigious list.

While much attention has been given to Colorado's star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was notably absent from the All-American selections, Hunter's inclusion shines a light on his pivotal role in the Buffaloes’ game plan. Hunter's ability to impact the game in multiple phases makes him a crucial asset for Colorado as they aim to improve upon last season’s 4-8 performance.

Hunter's recognition by the AP reflects not only his individual talent but also the promise he brings to Colorado's upcoming season. As a player who can shift the momentum on either side of the ball, Hunter is expected to be a key factor in the Buffaloes' quest for success in the competitive Big 12 conference.

Last season Hunter recorded 57 receptions for 721 yards and 5 touchdowns as a wide receiver. As a cornerback he finished the season with 30 tackles, 5 pass deflections and 3 interceptions. As the season kicks off, all eyes will be on Hunter to see how he capitalizes on this preseason accolade and helps propel Colorado toward a potential breakthrough year.
