Kentucky Coach Feels Good about Quarterback Room

This season, Kentucky is looking pretty comfortable at the quarterback position. Mark Stoops brought in Brock Vandagriff from Georgia, Kentucky native Gavin Wimsatt from Rutgers, Beau Allen, who transferred back to Kentucky, and a four-star quarterback out of Lexington in Cutter Boley.

Safe to say, that is a group that the Kentucky coaching staff feels comfortable with in terms of the depth and what each quarterback can bring to the table. Stoops talked with the media recently, and he discussed the quarterback room. He's feeling really good about the group of guys he can put under center. "As I told them all, I really feel good about them. Absolutely no knock to anyone who's been here before, but as a group, the four guys that we have, I have so much confidence in. It's a really good group, and that's really helpful because as you know, things have happened in the past, and as you know, with the portal, sometimes when you have guys, other guys leave and it leaves you thin. I feel like we're in a really good situation with the quarterback room. I really do."

No one wishes injury on anyone, but Stoops has confidence in each quarterback in the room to just go out and play if something like that does happen. "We don't want anybody to get hurt, but it lets you have the confidence to let the guys go play, and just go play the game. We all know the game is physical and things happen, and we don't want that to anybody. But I really do feel good about the depth, and I feel like all four guys could play." A deep quarterback room is something Kentucky hasn't really had, at least very much, but this year, the group is looking really good.

Depth sounds like a strength for much of Kentucky's position groups heading into the season.
