Breanna Stewart Enters Second-Place Tie for WNBA Record During Storm vs. Liberty

A lot of the talk during this WNBA season has been surrounding rookie stars like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, but New York Liberty veteran Breanna Stewart is setting out to remind everyone that she is still one of the best players in the league's history.

On Tuesday night in the Liberty's 94-74 win over the Dallas Wings, Stewart made history, dropping 26 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists, hitting 7-of-22 shots when all was said and done.

With the performance, it was the 16th time in Stewart's career that she has had a game with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. This is tied for the second-most in WNBA history.

Earlier this week, the Liberty got a big win over the Las Vegas Aces, clinching their playoff spot with a record of 24-4. The trio of Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and Jonquel Jones is playing as well as anyone in the league right now, and they're going to be hard to beat in the postseason.

Stewart is averaging 19 points, 8 rebounds, and three assists, while Ionescu is adding an average of 19 points 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Meanwhile, Jones is tacking on 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.

If they can keep this up, Stewart won't just be making history at the end of the year, but she could be hoisting her third WNBA Championship Trophy.
