WNBA Vet Spills On How Caitlin Clark Makes Indiana Fever Players 'Feel Bad'

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are undefeated since returning from the Olympic break with wins over two WNBA playoff teams: the Phoenix Mercury and the Seattle Storm.

Indiana's chemistry seems to have improved over the month-long hiatus, and forward Katie Lou Samuelson would agree.

In a recent interview in front of Fever fans, Samuelson and Clark discussed the recent bonding the team has gone through and revealed how Clark can make "everyone feel bad."

"I feel like I've gotten to know Caitlin more and more as the season has gone on," Samuelson said. "She's definitely gotten more comfortable. She's one of the funniest people and will always make a sarcastic remark at any chance she can. Those games, as silly as they are and as competitive as we get, just bonds us as a team, and I think you can see that on the court and the way we're playing."

During the second half of the break, the Fever held a few practice sessions. In those practices, coach Christie Sides had the players compete in some team-bonding contests, including a homerun derby and a scavenger hunt. These games have helped the team build chemistry with each other, and the results are showing.

"We're getting to know each other," Samuelson continued. "We definitely care about each other, even if Caitlin makes everyone feel bad that we're not as good at baseball as she is."

Clark is known for her competitive spirit, and that was on full display through these team challenges. But the bond with her teammates is there, and the Fever will need that chemistry if they want to make a run to the postseason and beyond.

Samuelson has started in 13 of the Fever's 28 games. In her first season with the Fever, she is averaging 5.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20.6 minutes per game.
