Kentucky's backcourt hasn't even played a game yet together, but different outlets are releasing rankings for positions or even early rankings of teams. The Field of 68 recently shared their top 20 backcourts for this season, and the Wildcats are lower than you might think.

In their rankings, The Field of 68 slotted the Wildcats' backcourt just outside of the top 15 in the country at 16th overall Ahead of them? Louisville, Indiana, Marquette, Arkansas, and Wake Forest. That ranking is a little low, but the same can be said for a couple of teams ahead of them. Behind them are UConn, Arizona, Ole Miss, and Texas. It's worth noting that only the back-half of the top 20 rankings have been released so far, with the top 10 to be released soon.

Kentucky's backcourt is an all-new combination of guards. When Mark Pope took the job at Kentucky, he essentially had to build a roster from scratch, and that's where the transfer portal comes in. The backcourt is filled with talent and experience. Lamont Butler has some valuable experience coming with him to Lexington. He performed on the highest stage in college basketball, hitting a game-winner in the Final Four to advance to the National Championship game, as well as defensive prowess. Jaxson Robinson could be a star for Kentucky as a scorer and has played under Pope before. Kerr Kriisa is an experienced playmaker who is bringing a swagger to the team, Otega Oweh, a physical guard, Collin Chandler, a well-rounded offensive player. Then you have Koby Brea, Trent Noah, and Travis Perry, knock-down shooters who are perfect for Mark Pope's fast-paced offensive system.

Will Kentucky's backcourt be better than this ranking of 16th in the country this season?
