The New York Knicks lost one of their centers to free agency this offseason, so the team was looking for a backup big man as a result.

Per a report by NBA Insider Marc Stein , former Utah Jazz and Miami Heat center Omer Yurtseven worked out with the Knicks, along with some other big men the team was interested in taking a look at.

The team ended up deciding to not sign him, and eventually re-signed Precious Achiuwa to be the team's backup center. Despite that fact, Yurtseven could be a solid piece for any team that wants to take a chance on him.

He has career averages of four points and four rebounds per game on just under 54 percent shooting from the field. He also has playoff experience, as he was one of the Heat's backup centers whenever they made it to the Finals at the end of the 2022-23 season.

The Knicks lost Isaiah Hartenstein to the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency, which does hurt, as he was a big reason why the team was able to put together a playoff run. Now that Mitchell Robinson is healthy, and they have locked up Achiuwa, the Knicks will be hoping their centers can dominate inside and help them to the top of the Eastern Conference.
