We are just over a week away from the start of the 2024 college football season, but that doesn't mean recruiting ever stops. In fact, one of the top recruits in the 2025 class announced his commitment on Wednesday.

Five-star recruit and No. 2 offensive tackle Michael Fasusi has announced that he will be committing to play football for the Oklahoma Sooners. This decision comes after the Texas Longhorns were long considered heavy favorites. However, Oklahoma started gaining momentum in the last month or so. Fasusi ultimately chose the Sooners over the Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies, who reportedly also made a late push.

According to On3 , Fasusi will bring physicality and developmental upside to the Sooners. The 6-foot-5, 299-pound offensive tackle spends most of his time as a left tackle but has also played some on the right side.

Fasusi has been added to an impressive offensive line recruiting class, joining four-star recruits Ryan Fodje and Darius Afalava and three-star recruit Owen Hollenbeck. According to 247Sports , Fasusi's commitment has helped elevate Oklahoma's recruiting class to the top 10, moving the Sooners from No. 11 to No. 8 in the rankings.

Landing a five-star recruit is always significant, but it's probably even sweeter for the Sooners to beat out their archrival.
