Nico Collins had an amazing breakout season in 2023 that resulted in a three year, $72.75 million dollar contract extension.

He talked about his quarterback and how Stefon Diggs will fit into Houston’s offensive attack this season.

On if he is noticing that having WR Stefon Diggs is tougher on defenses

Nico: Yeah, that adds another weapon. And yeah, it's going to be hard for defenses to cover. But I feel like it adds another option, another explosion player to our offense. And we know what Diggs can do with the ball in his hands. He's been balling in this League for years. So, great, he's part of this offense, man. And great we can get rolling.

On what he has seen in the growth of QB C.J. Stroud from year one to year two

Nico: Really, man, I feel like he's been the same. Just calm and collected since day one since he came in his rookie year and now. I feel like he's got that year under his belt now, so I feel like now he knows what to expect. He knows how to lead. But the sky is the limit for him. And he's calm and collected. Just the way he goes about his business every day. In and out the business, his film study. He's a competitor. He's the type of guy you want to go to war with. But the sky's the limit for him. I feel like he’s going to go out there and just ball out no matter what.

On what he can say about the way that QB C.J. Stroud communicates

Nico: Yeah, he's always been that dude. He's always been that vocal leader since day one. I feel Iike that was kind of surprising as a rookie quarterback to come in and lead the way he did. And he came in with that chip on that shoulder ready to lead. That's the way a quarterback should be when you first come in. But his communication, man, I feel like it's improving. Even though he's always been good, I feel like it’s always improving. I feel like it’s always room for improvement for everybody. And I feel like he’s willing to get everybody better around him, it’s his mission. I feel like we all bought-in, and we all play for one another. So, I feel like the sky’s the limit for him and I’m excited to see it.
