Bills' Josh Allen Hails 'Pretty Special' Keon Coleman

Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Keon Coleman has been hitting all the right notes since OTAs began. Buffalo sees Coleman as part of the solution to losing Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis, so there's a lot on the rookie's shoulders.

But so far, Coleman has been a beacon of consistent production for Joe Brady's offense. While he only has a combined two catches for 20 yards in Buffalo's two preseason games, in practice, he's been getting touchdown grabs for fun.

A player with a front-row seat to Coleman's development is quarterback Josh Allen, and he's excited to see Keon when the regular season begins.

“I think that his football IQ, and I’ve talked about it before, the way that he sees the field is pretty special for a rookie to do,” Allen said . “His body control, the way that he can go up and jump and catch balls, which you guys have seen throughout camp. He loves this game, he loves being around his teammates, and I’m very excited to see what he can do for this offense.”

While Coleman is seen as a potential No. 1 receiver, eventually, in his first season, Keon will be surrounded by veterans such as Mack Hollins, Curtis Samuel, Marques Valdez-Scantling, Khalil Shakir, and KJ Hamler.

With a receiver-by-committee approach for Buffalo in 2024, more emphasis might be placed on the run game, in a similar way that Brady transformed the offense last season after taking over from Ken Dorsey in Week 10.

But still, having genuine outside weapons will help Allen push the ball down the field, and given Coleman's size, he's a nightmare matchup every time he steps onto the field.

That might be why Allen is excited to see what the rookie can do this upcoming season.
