The Los Angeles Rams are making a strong impression this preseason, currently holding a 2-0 record with one game left before the regular season kicks off. While wins in the preseason don’t count toward the standings, player performance—especially from rookies—is what really matters.

One rookie who has stood out is wide receiver Jordan Whittington, who leads the NFL in preseason receptions. Selected in the sixth round of the draft, Whittington has made a name for himself, catching 11 passes on 17 targets for a total of 126 yards, including 52 yards after the catch.

As the Rams prepare for their final preseason game against the Houston Texans, Whittington's impressive performance may mean he sits out to avoid injury, having already secured a spot on the roster. The Rams are looking for depth in their receiving corps, as Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are expected to be the primary targets. Last season, Demarcus Robinson filled the third receiver role, but it remains uncertain if he can replicate that success this year. Whittington has shown he could step in as a reliable option.

Whittington had a solid college career at the University of Texas, where he recorded 42 receptions for 505 yards and one touchdown in his senior season. His performance in the preseason has caught the attention of the coaching staff, and if he continues to develop, the Rams could have a formidable receiving group this season.
