As the Buffalo Bills approach their final preseason game, the pressure is on for players to secure their spots on the 53-man roster. With the deadline looming, several notable names are on the bubble, raising eyebrows across the league.

The Bills, like every NFL team, must trim their roster down, and a few surprising cuts could be on the way.

Receiver K.J. Hamler , once considered a valuable addition to the Bills' wide receiver room, is now at risk of being cut.

Brought in primarily to compete for return duties, Hamler's chances took a hit after he muffed a punt in the first preseason game. Known for his explosive speed and crisp route running, Hamler's struggles may lead the Bills to prioritize size and outside receiver types, potentially leaving him off the final roster.

Former Pro Bowl linebacker Deion Jones is another surprising name on the bubble. Despite the Bills' injury woes at linebacker, including the loss of Matt Milano to a torn biceps, Jones has struggled to stand out. His extended playing time in the second half of the Bills' last preseason game suggests that he might be on the outside looking in. With undrafted free agent Joe Andreessen making a strong case for a spot, Jones' future with the Bills is uncertain.

Veteran offensive lineman La'el Collins was expected to provide depth at both tackle and guard positions when he signed with the Bills this offseason.

However, his preseason performances have raised concerns about his mobility, particularly at tackle. Collins' inability to demonstrate flexibility across multiple positions could lead to his release, despite the guaranteed money in his contract. The Bills may opt for younger, more athletic players who offer positional versatility.

As the Bills prepare for their final preseason game, these players will be under intense scrutiny. Their performances could determine whether they make the final cut or find themselves looking for a new team.
