The Buffalo Bills have over 20 players currently dealing with injuries before the start of the regular season.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott has been in a difficult situation managing a roster so banged up before real games begin, while also trying to compete to win in a do-or-die year for him.

The latest injury update certainly won't help, though.

Safety Terrell Burgess (hamstring), nickel CB Taron Johnson (quad), and Will Clapp (concussion protocol) joined the injury list Thursday with at least some positive thought that each would be back for the start of the regular season in a couple of weeks.

"I think all of them are going to be close," McDermott said of their Week 1 availability. "For me to say which ones, you know, are going to get back sooner, would be hard at this point."

Johnson is the biggest name on the newcomer list as one of the elite slot cornerbacks in the NFL today. He's expected to make his return before the season opener, but it also highlights another injury on the team - linebacker Matt Milano.

Milano's torn biceps cost him the 2024 season and opened a major hole in the Bills' defense.

A hole that grow bigger by each injury.
