Rachaad & Key Bucs Offensive Positions to Watch vs. Dolphins

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to close out their preseason with a home game against the Miami Dolphins at Raymond James Stadium this Friday night. Following a joint practice earlier in the week, the stage is set for many of the Buccaneers' starters to see their first action of the exhibition season.

With the regular season opener against the Washington Commanders looming on September 8, this game serves as a critical final tune-up for key offensive players.

Head coach Todd Bowles has not outlined specific playing time for the first-team players, but with this being the final dress rehearsal before the regular season, several offensive skill positions will be under the microscope. Two players, in particular, stand out as key figures to watch.

Rachaad White , the Buccaneers' starting running back, is set to lead the charge in the ground game as Tampa Bay looks to build on promising signs from earlier in the preseason. After narrowly missing a 1,000-yard rushing season last year, White aims to capitalize on the improved run blocking that has been evident in the first two preseason games.

Rookie Bucky Irving and second-year back Sean Tucker have already taken advantage of the bigger running lanes, and White will be looking to do the same against Miami. In addition to his rushing ability,

White's role as a receiving back will be crucial in new offensive coordinator Liam Coen’s system, where he is expected to thrive as a dual-threat option.

Tight end Cade Otton enters his third season with high expectations after an impressive training camp. Otton, who emerged as a key target in the playoffs last year, has continued to develop strong chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield throughout the offseason.

Although his snaps may be limited in this preseason finale, Otton’s ability to find openings in the defense and make plays downfield will be a key focus. As the Buccaneers' primary tight end, his all-around game—both as a receiver and blocker—will be essential to the team’s offensive success this season.

Their contributions on Friday night will provide valuable insight into the Buccaneers' offensive potential as they gear up for the regular season.
