New York Jets cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner has been stirring the pot all week. Speaking to reporters after a joint practice with the New York Giants, he struggled to find anything to say when asked about his opinion of quarterback Daniel Jones, taking nearly 10 seconds to find some words.

After the press conference went viral, Gardner defended himself on X. "I said "he's a good quarterback", he posted . "just got a lil distracted with something mid interview 😂 chilllllllll."

Gardner went viral again for his clap back to a Bills fan commenting on the golf stimulator the former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year built his basement. The Bills fan wrote , "A simulator to teach you how to not commit pass interference or defensive holding!"

Gardner's response to the rival fan received so much backlash, he's since deleted the tweet.

The 23-year-old posted in the since-deleted message, "I'm sure your husband wouldn't like it if I told him you dm'd me your OF link would he?" While some fans and analysts applauded the brutal take down, others strongly believed it went way too far.

One fan wrote, "Easy to say that’s it’s ruining her marriage and have the husband throw a fit nobody would be able to prove otherwise if played off right. Sauce has a lot of money lawyers would probably tell him to settle and she’d get an easy some of money."

Gardner replied, "as much as i wanna believe you, it's not working this is a platform where people joke & troll. don't joke and/or troll somebody if you can't take it back. simple."

Another fan commented, "The problem is you used a very misogynist way to 'troll' someone as you say. You wouldn't use that to reply to a man. You know this too. You got defensive because you know you hold."

The Cincinnati alum replied, "i wasnt defensive 😂 i laughed hella hard seeing her tweet actually lol. i'm the LAST person to get defensive about anything 😂😂😂 she trolled and i trolled. i'm not the hollywood type. i enjoy interacting with people on here. i do it everyday."

The same fan wrote back after Gardner deleted the post, "Why delete your tweet? 🤥 you’re usually a lot better at holding on to things."

The Bills fan appeared to take the jab in stride. She replied to the All-Pro corner on August 23, "Why don’t you send him the link then?? He’s waiting! I would love to know what it is myself! Nice comeback @iamsaucegarnder. but what a shame it’s a big fat lie! 🤣."

Batavia Daily's Alex Brasky posted , "posting a lie about a fan’s personal life because she roasted your on-field performance then chalking it up to a twitter joke is one of the more despicable things i can remember an athlete doing then again, it’s the jets."
