FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys finish off the preseason on Saturday afternoon against the Los Angeles Chargers in Arlington featuring "The Trey Lance Show'' ... maybe produced and directed by ... Dak Prescott?!

In two previous games for the Cowboys , it's been a Lance showcase, with the former No. 3 overall pick leading the offense for the majority of time. Lance leads the team in passing with 40 completions on 69 attempts for 339 yards and one touchdown. He also leads the team in rushing with 78 yards on 13 carries with another touchdown.

The majority of the Cowboys' starters have been absent from the field in the prior two games that saw Dallas post a loss to the Rams and a win against the Raiders. Lance's play has improved throughout the offseason, but is it enough for him to take over the No. 2 spot from Cooper Rush? He'll have one more chance on Saturday to make that happen. ... and he will do so with Prescott, the No. 1 QB, likely involved alongside coach Mike McCarthy as the "play-caller,'' a neat trick that gives Dak (who will sit out) a view of the scheme through a different and valuable prism.

For the Chargers, offense has been a struggle this preseason, as the team has put up just 12 total points across two games. Starting quarterback Justin Herbert has not played while he deals with a foot injury. Former UFL Arlington Renegades quarterback Luis Perez leads the Chargers this preseason with 18-of-32 passing for 139 yards.

Former Cowboys wideout Simi Fehoko leads his team in receiving with five catches for 85 yards.

Dallas is still without CeeDee Lamb amid his holdout for a contract extension, and as is the Cowboys' tradition, most starters probably won't see the field on Saturday, including quarterback Dak Prescott, who hasn't appeared in any preseason play for Dallas this year.
