Spurs' Chris Paul Looks to Have NCAA Football Championship Success Rub Off on Him

The University of Alabama boasts 16 NCAA Football championships in its rich history, behind only Harvard for the most all-time, although Harvard's last title came in 1927. With six titles since 2000, the Crimson Tide is easily the best college football program in America.

With his 12 All-Star appearances and 11 All-NBA nods, Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in NBA history, although winning the NBA Finals has remained elusive to him throughout his 19-season career. Now with the San Antonio Spurs, it seems unlikely that Paul will secure a title in his 20th season.

However, he has spent his summer with the best. Paul has worked out with some of the best players in the NBA this offseason, but he recently paid visit to Tuscaloosa to meet with Alabama's football team, which starts the season ranked fifth in the country.

Keeping with former head coach Nick Saban's tradition, new coach Kalen DeBoer invited several role models to speak to his team before their season. This summer, Chris Paul made the cut.

While Paul likely spoke (details were not disclosed) about teamwork, hard work, perseverance, and trust, winning was likely the theme of his remarks. While Paul is yet to be a champion, he does know a thing or two about making the most of playing a sport and likely had a lot to say for the students of the game to pick up on.

It's worth noting that Paul attended Wake Forest University and was never enrolled at Alabama. In his two seasons with the Deamon Deacons, he never played against the Tide. This may have very well been his first visit to Tuscaloosa.
