Caitlin Clark Goes Viral After Nasty Crossover Sends Lynx Defender Sliding

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever take on the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday night. It's a highly anticipated matchup considering Minnesota is a top-three team in the league and Indiana is trying to climb the ranks.

However, Clark stole the spotlight early in the contest after crossing up Lynx guard, Courtney Williams. The Fever star used a brilliant crossover that sent Williams stumbling to the floor.

Indiana shared the highlight on X, formerly known as Twitter, and it's received great numbers since being posted. In a short amount of time, Clark's crossover has garnered over 15,000 views, nearly 2,000 likes, and over 150 reposts, as of this publishing. Watch Clark's nasty crossover below .

Despite having a slow start to her career, Clark has seemingly improved throughout her rookie season. She's in the running for Rookie of the Year alongside Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. But if Clark keeps putting up crazy numbers and crossing defenders over like this, the Fever star could walk away with the coveted rookie achievement.

Clark has brought plenty of eyes not just to Fever games, but to the WNBA as a whole. The 2024 All-Star game alone that featured Clark and Reese registered 3.4 million viewers. That's a 305 percent increase over the 2023 All-Star game, according to Chloe Peterson of the Indy Star.

"Clark and Reese's following has elevated the WNBA as a whole. The two rookies were a part of the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, which set a viewership record with 3.4 million viewers — up 305% from 2023."

The Fever are currently ranked third in the Eastern Conference and seventh overall. That puts Indiana in position to potentially make the playoffs during Clark's rookie season. Not including Saturday night's contest, Indiana has 11 more games to clinch a spot in the postseason.

Clark has been a featured player for the Fever throughout most of this season. So far, she's averaging 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game. Teammate Aliyah Boston, who is in her second yaar in the WNBA has stepped up as well. Boston is currently averaging 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.
