After just three years with the Carolina Panthers , former LSU Tigers star wideout Terrace Marshall Jr. was released from the team on the final day of off-season roster cuts Tuesday afternoon.

NFL teams must trim down their roster to 53 before 4 PM Tuesday by either waiving, releasing, or assigning players to an alternative list.

Marshall was a key receiver on the 2019 LSU National Championship team alongside Joe Burrow , Justin Jefferson , and Ja'Marr Chase .

In three seasons at LSU, Marshall had 106 receptions for 1,594 yards and 23 touchdowns, while averaging 15.0 yards per reception.

He was selected in the 2021 NFL Draft and just never found a groove with the Panthers. In three seasons, he tallied 64 receptions for 767 yards and just one touchdown.

Throughout the preseason this summer, Marshall racked up five receptions for 53 yards and one touchdown, averaging 10.6 yards per reception.

Despite being released from the Panthers, he is expected to be one of the more sought-after receivers on the free agent market over the next few weeks. Marshall had a strong camp according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler , and should receive interest elsewhere.
