A bombshell came out in the NFL world on Tuesday afternoon, with the Kansas City Chiefs officially releasing wide receiver Kadarius Toney from their roster.

Toney, who is among the most polarizing players in the league, will now be looking for a new team before the 2024 season begins, or else he will likely sign to a practice squad roster.

Toney is set to enter his fourth year in the NFL in 2024 after getting drafted by the New York Giants and traded to the Kansas City Chiefs before winning a Super Bowl in 2023 and 2024. During the 2024 preseason, though, Toney struggled, catching just three passes for 22 yards.

While there was some speculation that the Chiefs might part ways with Toney, the actual news coming down was certainly surprising. Here's a look at how NFL fans reacted on Tuesday:

With a player as talented as Toney, there will certainly be a market for him this preseason as other teams look to add him to their roster and see if they can make it work.
