The Los Angeles Angels are facing yet another injury setback, this time involving left-handed reliever Matt Moore.

He exited the game against the Blue Jays on August 25 after allowing two runs in the seventh inning. This marked his first appearance in six days and the first time he had given up multiple runs since mid-July.

Moore's performance this season has been underwhelming, with his ERA fluctuating from 6.03 to 4.69 before Sunday’s outing, which pushed it back up to 5.03.

At 35 years old, his future with the Angels is uncertain, especially since he is set to become a free agent this offseason.

With Moore's elbow injury, the Angels must evaluate their bullpen options moving forward.

The team has already made some moves, trading away Carlos Estevez and Luis Garcia to clear space for prospects. This situation opens up opportunities for younger pitchers like Ben Joyce and Carson Fulmer to step up.

The Angels could also consider bringing in new talent. Among the potential free agents for 2025, Phil Maton, who has been performing well since joining the Mets, could be a solid addition.

If the Angels are looking for a left-handed option, Jalen Beeks, who has shown promise with the Pirates, might fit the bill.

Alternatively, the Angels could make a bigger move by targeting Clay Holmes, a two-time All-Star currently struggling with the Yankees. Despite his recent challenges, Holmes has the potential to be a valuable asset for any team.

While Moore's injury is disappointing, it provides the Angels with a chance to reassess their pitching staff and make informed decisions for the future.
