Livvy Dunne's Reaction to Pirates' 11-Run Blown Lead Says It All

The Pittsburgh Pirates, all but out of postseason contention 10.5 games back of a Wild Card spot, lost to the Chicago Cubs in epic fashion on Wednesday, August 28.

Despite holding a comfortable 10-3 lead after six innings of play, the Pirates allowed the surging Cubs to score 11 runs unanswered, including six RBI from catcher Christian Bethancourt in the final three frames.

Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes started the game and exited in line for his ninth win after surrendering only 2 runs over 5 innings. However, Pittsburgh fell apart after the 22-year-old's departure.

Skenes' girlfriend and LSU gymnastics star Livvy Dunne went viral for her reaction to the improbable loss.

After the game, Dunne posted a GIF of Skenes muttering "You Gotta Be Kidding Me," which was viewed over 1 million times in its first hour.

Skenes and Dunne, who boasts over 8 million TikTok followers, have been public about their relationship, which Skenes confirmed in August 2023.

According to the New York Post, "The couple met through Skenes’ best friend, who is dating Elena Marenas, Dunne’s roommate and gymnastics teammate at LSU."

On the field, Skenes, the No. 1 overall pick out of LSU in the 2023 MLB draft, has been as-advertised for Pittsburgh.

Through 18 starts, Skenes has posted an 8-2 record with 136 strikeouts through 109 innings. He also started the MLB All-Star Game in Texas.
