The Pittsburgh Steelers may be without a crucial piece of their offensive line as they prepare for their season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that guard Isaac Seumalo left practice with an apparent pectoral injury.

The severity of the injury is currently unknown, with Seumalo undergoing further tests to determine its extent. This marks the eleventh injury for the Steelers in just ten days, from August 18 to August 28, as reported by CBS Sports.

Seumalo, a veteran lineman, has been a key figure in the Steelers' lineup since signing a three-year, $24 million contract with Pittsburgh in March 2023. Last season, he started all 17 games, solidifying his role on the line. Before joining the Steelers, Seumalo spent seven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he started 60 games and played a vital role in their 2022 Super Bowl run.

Throughout his career, Seumalo has shown resilience, but he has also faced multiple injuries. He missed significant time during the 2020 and 2021 seasons with knee and Lisfranc injuries, respectively. Additionally, he sustained a pectoral injury in 2018 while with the Eagles, causing him to miss the final three games of that season.

Seumalo’s potential absence could pose challenges for the Steelers' offensive strategy, particularly as they face a Falcons team eager to start the season strong. Pittsburgh may need to adjust its plans depending on the results of Seumalo's tests in the coming days.
