Texans announce 12-man practice squad

The Houston Texans have announced an initial 12 player practice squad. This comes a day after preparing the first 53-man roster. The National Football League (NFL) allows up to 16 players on each team’s squad.

Additionally, the NFL allows teams to promote two players to the active roster each week. Players can be elevated up to three times during the season. After that, they would have to be added to the active roster or released.

Running Back JJ Taylor

Linebacker Max Tooley

Wide Receiver Johnny Johnson III

Defensive End Solomon Byrd

Offensive Line Cameron Erving

Linebacker Ezekiel Turner

Offensive Line Kilian Zierer

Fullback Troy Hairston

The Texans can still add up to four more players at any time during the season. League rules stipulate that at least ten members of the practice squad must be first or second year players.
